Concurrent Product/Process Development is a multi-disciplined approach to the design of new products which forms a cooperative team consisting of members of the manufacturing, purchasing and quality assurance groups as well as product design. This paper will review the key elements of Concurrent Product/Process Development, identify the disciplines required and highlight the cost-benefit tradeoffs.
