- With the rapid advancement of Internet and Web based technologies, applications of collaboration technologies to engineering design are becoming more and more promising. The depth and width of such applications is far beyond the traditional definition of concurrent engineering. Computer Supported Collaborative Design (CSCD) has been a very active R&D area in the past 15 years. This paper presents a review of the R&D literature on CSCD and discusses research challenges and opportunities.
