Abstract
Content
Advances in computer controlled shot peening equipment allow design and materials engineers to use the beneficial effects of shot peening in fundamental design consideration. Modern equipment monitors critical process functions, including air pressure, shot flow, nozzle and workpiece location and translation. This level of process control broadens component design considerations, advances useful applications, heightens quality expectations and can provide gains in process productivity.
