- The ‘Design of Engine Elements’ Software package embraces the design procedures involved in designing the key engine elements and brings it out in the form of a user-friendly software package. The package was written in Visual Basic 6.0. This package obviates the need for manual design of the key engine components, which is very cumbersome due to extensive mathematical calculations involved. Moreover, any non-technical person who has a little knowledge to work with the computer systems can operate the package effectively. To work with the package one does not require any additional design materials like Design Data Books because most of the constants are built into the program. The results obtained from the software package could be used in the practical design of the components with slight or no modification. The output is available in the form of Production Drawings compatible with AutoCAD. They drawings could also be edited, which provides a high degree or flexibility to the user. Even though a lot of parameters are being handled by the software package, the program is robust and works efficiently under most conditions, utilizing very less memory.
