- The overall growth in aircraft internal power system requirements has dictated that a key part of that system, the small gas turbine internal power engine, become a high performance engine in terms of horsepower per engine cubic foot and pound. These performance levels must be met while facing unique problems attendant with internal power applications. Some of these problems are demonstrated by examining the engine performance influence coefficients of a USAF advanced internal power generation engine and comparing with those of a larger propulsion engine.
