Abstract
Content
The automotive industry is global in nature. Competitive threats can come from anywhere in the world. To compete effectively, the automotive industry must be able to keep on top of competitors' plans and actions. Also important is tracking trends in the industry, noting the activities of suppliers, following changing labor relations philosophies, and focusing on customer requirements. Information, particularly that which can be garnered from commercial, remote databases, is a critical component of any company's management strategy.
