Comparison of Automotive Body Panel Materials

Major changes in materials and construction methods are taking place in production of automotive body panels. There is a growing trend to plastics and composite materials. The reasons behind these changes are given in this paper. The various plastic materials are compared with regard to properties and costs of materials and processing.
