Authors Abstract
Content
Many of the Sub-Rack Payloads (SRP) under development by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) have a significant number of requirements in common. The International Space Station (ISS) program imposes the same requirements, via SSP 57000, on every SRP. Each rack imposes another specific set of requirement on every SRP using that style of rack. Generic functional requirements may also be imposed by the equipment specific specification. Identification of common design and process elements would allow NASA to implement contracts and methodology to streamline payload development, shorten acceptance testing cycles and reduce overall program costs.
