- Solvay Solexis has designed a new generation binder material, Solef 5130, to manufacture lithium ion batteries with greater adhesion on the electrodes allowing for increased specific energy capacity and battery cycle life. This paper investigates the dissolution, slurry viscosity, and slurry stability of Solef 5130 with competing binder materials and consequently, recommends lower binder concentrations of Solef 5130, while still exhibiting superior adhesion on the electrodes.
