Collision Protection for Small Transit Buses

This paper reports the results of a survey analyzing the accident experience of small transit vehicles compared with that of larger coaches; and also describes the development and testing of an energy absorbing bumper designed for such vehicles in the 4,000–14,000 lb (1800–6400 kg) weight range.
