Major developments in appearance and ergonomic design of car audio equipment are resulting from the impact of electronic technology.
Although previous decades have seen important technical advances in car audio equipment, it is only now that new engineering technologies make possible designs based on how people would wish to use them rather than on the dictates of mechanical or electrical devices.
‘User-based design’ means addressing these subjective human factors, as a priority objective so as to improve man/machine interaction. This situation is not only capable of radically changing audio product designs, but creates the need for a new approach to the research and design process by which they are developed.
By creating more design freedom and technical innovations, electronic technology is helping drive appearance design developments. Car audio equipment users can look forward to visually more expressive and varied products in future - products to be enjoyed.
