To generate off-line actions of characters, a rich motion database built from motion-capture systems is usually used for creating animations. In this paper, a three-dimension (3D) animation editing method is proposed to create realistic animation with natural body motions captured from a standard web-camera. When a user moves his limbs in front of a web-camera, a corresponding 3D mesh animation is generated by the system in real-time and the 3D model in the virtual space is put onto a corresponding position by analyzing the successive input frames from the captured video. Our experimental results show that the corresponding animation is able to be stably generated in our real-time interactive system in not only a pure lab environment but also in a general home environment.
