Abstract

Content: Limitations of current 4-wheel drive systems for hard surface operation are analyzed.

Requirements for off-road mobility are studied and the requirements for a biased interaxle differential are defined from those requirements.

The design and test of a biased differential which can be tailored to specific requirements are discussed.
