- The performance of a predevelopment Standalone Major Constituent Analyzer has been evaluated relative to its role in the Man-Tended Configuration (MTC) and the Permanently Manned Configuration (PMC) of Space Station Freedom (SSF). A bench test has assessed the unit's ability to sample and analyze gases at 517 and 770 Torr, and the Atmosphere Control and Supply Test has verified interfaces with the oxygen partial pressure control system. Test activities are described for each test phase; data are presented in graphical and tabular format. Results of the tests are evaluated and their application to the flight design is discussed.
