Authors Abstract
Content
Insufficient belt tension causes slipping, belt shriek and reduced belt life. Excessive belt tension causes bearing damage and belt failure. To have a successful development work, it is of highest importance to determine essential facts in a belt drive, such as static tension, critical tension, reduction in belt tension as a function of distance travelled or temperature etc. This entail demands for good measuring equipment.
