The Bell V-280 Valor is Bell's next-generation tiltrotor -- designed, built, and tested to provide a revolutionary vertical lift capability with mature technology, mission effectiveness, and affordability for a Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) program of record. The V-280 Valor Joint Multi Role Technology Demonstrator (JMR TD) entered flight test with its First Flight on December 18, 2017. The partnership between Bell and the US Army spanned all phases of V-280 design, assembly, and testing, including multiple flight tests by US Army pilots. As of April 2019, the test team has accumulated over 100 hours of flight time and over 200 operating hours on the aircraft. In 16 months of flight test, Team Valor has demonstrated the performance, capability, and high technology readiness level of the V-280 through flight test envelope expansion and achieving Key Performance Parameters (KPPs). The flight test program is continuing envelope expansion, technology insertion, and flight demonstrations.
