BELL 429 Main Rotor Aerodynamic and Dynamic Development

State of the art rotor design methods have been used to design the Bell Helicopter M429 main rotor. Aerodynamic and dynamic solutions were developed in a timely manner within stringent constraints to provide best in class rotor characteristics. This paper describes aerodynamic and dynamic methods used during the design and development of the Bell 429 helicopter main rotor blade and provides resulting M429 measured characteristics.
