In the last few years a large number of Top-Down approaches that allow system designers to partition multiplex systems have been proposed. Using these methods different structures of the system can be obtained so that automotive system designers need only to evaluate the limits of the system and which architectural solution satisfies the functional requirements.
This performance evaluation can be achieved by means of system simulation and, to do this, it is mandatory to raise the abstraction level of the system description in order to model and verify complex systems more easily. In this paper we present the use of VHDL (Vhsic Hardware Description Language) for high-level description and simulation of multiplex systems.
