Authors Abstract
Content
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is used as insulation for automotive wiring. However, when the wiring is scrapped, there is some apprehension that hydrogen chloride gases may be generated and cause environmental pollution. To prevent further environmental pollution and to promote the recycling of materials, wire with non-halogenated insulation has been recently developed for automotive use. This insulation material has excellent mechanical and heat resistant properties. The newly non-halogenated insulated automotive wiring satisfies all the properties required for the existing PVC insulated automotive wiring. Furthermore, the new automotive wiring is environmentally friendly with no generation of smoke or harmful materials when incinerated or buried in landfills.
