Authors Abstract

Recently the audio industry has quickly been shifting from analog systems to digital systems as recognized in the appearance of CD, the establishment of the uniform format of R-DAT, etc.
The wave of digitization has been accepted in the car audio industry which has aimed at higher products and has been developing CDs and R-DATs for automobile use. Vibration resistance, heat resistance, and moisture resistance, are very important for such products, and it is absolutely necessary for R-DAT that heat resistance and moisture resistance be greatly improved.
Our company has also engaged in the development of R-DAT for automobile use for several years with our own technology as a dedicated manufacturer of car audio and has successfully developed a mechanism which has solved the above-mentioned problems and has been accomplished in a compact and thin design. Also, we have developed a DAT module based on this mechanism and, consequently, have brought a 1-DIN size DAT combination set (a set of an AM/FM tuner and a DAT) to the market,
In the following, we are going to explain the mechanism on which the modularization is based, especially to focus the explanation on the measures taken against heat resistance and moisture resistance.
