- Typically, the automotive diagnostic of ECUs is realized by an electronic interface and software that is running in a PC or specific tool. Initially, this work was just accomplished by the automotive technician, in local mode, beside the vehicle, and his interaction with the factory was based only in manuals and assistance reports. In the last years, it was developed a system that made possible using the internet, from After Sales Headquarters, to operate any Dealer's stations of diagnosis. This system was denominated “WEB Diag” and basically allow to using remotely all diagnostics services presented inside the device's protocol.This document describes this diagnostic architecture based in internet, their capacities, limits, results and evolution perspectives for the next years.
