Automation: Revisiting the Basics

There have been some air carrier concerns that basic aviator skills are atrophying due to the increasing use of automation in all phases of airline operation.

We will examine three systems where automation has greatly influenced crew activity, outline our concerns, and discuss how we are addressing those concerns.
