Automatic Riveting - Quality and Autonomation -C-Frame Riveters and Rivet Feeding

The basic parameters which influence the quality of an automatic riveting process are known to the aerospace industry, however the practical steps that can be taken to improve the quality of the rivet installation process, while simultaneously decreasing the cost of the process, are not as well understood. The relative influence of machine, cutter and rivet on the quality of the process is discussed and the particular value of the “autonomation” process is explained.
