Automated Warehouses and Parkings for Cars with Stacker Cranes

This study has been realized in the framework of a research contract between the Intersklad Eng. Ltd and Department “Material Handling & Logistics” of Higher School of Transport, Bulgaria. The paper presents some automated warehouse and parking systems ( AS/RS ) for cars. One of this has been elaborated on the basis of the invention which has been awarded the Gold medal at the INPEX'94, Pittsburgh, USA. The cellular rack blocks are operated by one or two stacker cranes. The objective is to dynamically optimize the sequence of cars and space for parking.
