Authors Abstract
Content
This Auto Simulator is developed in order to train the drivers for Indian driving conditions. The focus of this project has been towards simulating various traffic, road and driving conditions in India. An Understanding of the various Indian driving conditions, the driving patterns, public behavior on road are arrived at, by required research studies. Based on the information collected in the research phase, key design features are incorporated to simulate a realistic driving effect on Indian roads.
The driver controls such as the accelerator, brake, clutch pedals, shift lever, steering wheel, and hand brake were designed similar to the ones available in the Indian small car segment. These are interfaced to an embedded unit, which is generally called as an Electronic Control Unit (ECU), to simulate the real Indian driving conditions of the different vehicle subsystems like Steering mechanism, Gear shift Mechanism, Clutch, Brake, and Accelerator assemblies with an LCD display.
