Different atmospheric absorption models are applied to noise certification measurements for the Bell Models 429 and 505. It is shown that the latest atmospheric absorption model proposed for use in rotorcraft noise certification, SAE ARP5534, yields EPNL levels up to 1.4 EPNdB higher than the current model, SAE ARP866A.
