The ATL 98 Carvair Story

This paper gives the background to the story and some of the problems encountered in converting the Douglas DC-4 to its new role as a commercial vehicle ferry transport renamed the Carvair. The story has created considerable interest, probably because the vehicle ferry operation is unique, and secondly because the modification is about the largest successful one ever to be carried out.
