An Appraisal of the Proposals for the Further Development of EEC — Legislation on Automotive Emissions

EEC policy developments over the last five years are briefly reviewed. An appraisal of the emission standards in the EEC Luxemburg 1985 Agreement and possible second step standards for the under 1.4 litre car is given in the light of the desired EEC-US '83 equivalency.

A second important aspect is the representation of European driving conditions in a test cycle to be developed during 1987. Existing proposals are evaluated.
