- Results are highlighted from a 1-year project in which fundamental system design considerations and test hardware related to automotive crash-avoidance radar were investigated. A modified phase monopulse radar technique was chosen for testing because of its angle measuring potential capability. Limited useful performance obtained from this technique was found during testing. Extended target size and multipath effects are believed responsible for this finding.
