In 1999, Goodrich Corporation undertook the reapplication of its Integrated Mechanical Diagnostics Health and Usage Monitoring System (IMD HUMS) to the U.S. Army UH-60A Blackhawk. This effort was performed as a DoD Commercial Operations & Support Savings Initiative (COSSI) program. The Blackhawk IMD HUMS represents the next application of the IMD HUMS, following the development of systems for CH-53E and SH-60B. The UH-60A IMD HUMS provides a complete compliment of HUMS technologies for the Army Blackhawk.
