The Application of High Strength Steel to Bumper Reinforcements

Federal Standards have been placed on motor vehicles which set standards on the amount of vehicle damage after front and rear end tests. To meet the requirements, bumper reinforcements are used. On the first design, regular low carbon steel was used. After redesign, high strength steel has been used very successfully.
