Application of Circle Grid Analysis to Prototype Stamping Development

Initial part design is critical to the ability to manufacture quality, high volume stampings. Using gridding analysis, problem areas, where tearing or splitting might occur, can be pinpointed and corrected on prototype parts. An example of the gridding technique is discussed. In addition, a computer technique for graphic reporting of results is detailed.
