Application of AI to UTM Problems

In coming years Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) is poised to increase the difficulties of Air Traffic Management (ATM) manifold due to the addition of varyingly sized Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) to the existing traffic, especially at critical, lower levels close to ground. The management of unmanned traffic is termed as UAS Traffic Management (UTM). The volume of data to be handled and disseminated to affected entities is so huge that conventional systems are woefully inadequate to manage it. Artificial Intelligence (AI) promises to be the solution to this problem but is not currently adequate to the task of facilitating UTM.
