The Applicability of Time-Frequency Analysis to Machine- and Process-Monitoring

Modern methods of time-frequency analysis provide supplemental information beyond the vibration signature and spectrum which can be of value in machine monitoring. A brief overview of the theory and methods of time-frequency analysis, and its applications to machine monitoring, is presented.
