Analysis Of The Front Compartment Volume Of A Midsized Vehicle

The purpose of this paper is to present the Finite Element Structural Analysis of a medium truck front wheel hub, allowing an accurate design and stress visualization. The model was subjected to lateral loads, vertical loads and wheel bolts clamping force.

The analysis results led to a new disc brake clamping and location concept, with a high confidence level design, that showed no concerns in the durability tests.
