Authors Abstract
Content
THIS paper discusses problems encountered in the Mach number range of 0 to 2 with aircraft having different wing planforms. The delta-wing type is compared to the unswept or straight thin wing.
It is concluded that, with the solution to the structural problem having been obtained for the latter wing, the unswept type is superior to the delta type when strictly comparative missions and operating field lengths are considered.
