Aircraft Night Lighting Systems

The Air Force has developed several aircraft cockpit lighting techniques that will reduce glare, windscreen reflections, improve visibility and are compatible with Night Vision Goggles. These techniques utilize a combination of microencapsulated Electroluminescent lamps, light control film, light filters, and dimmers to control light placement, wavelength, and intensity. These techniques are applicable to military, commercial, and general aviation aircraft.
