Air Cargo Cost Reductions in International Trade

This paper describes in detail the economics and implementation of Northern Telecom's in-house, integrated ULD air cargo handling system. Put in operation to handle the airfreight from Canada to Ireland, it not only streamlined this operation but also lowered airfreight costs by 20 percent in the first year of operation.
