TIGER helicopter is designed to meet the needs of Army in future wartime missions. One main role is the combat support. HAP (combat support) version of TIGER has been developed for ground suppression, light armour destruction and anti-helicopter tasks. These missions are achieved through the optimization of the weapon system : gun, rockets and air-air missiles associated with sights and with high order firing controls. Each of system elements (weapons, sights, computers…) have been separately tested and their performance checked by their manufacturers. These elements have been integrated on System Integration Rig through a complete approach starting with individual tests and ending with complete tests of each functional chains. More than 1000 tests have been performed in order to have today a reliable operational system containing all the needed functionalities. Now, the performance are being checked on TIGER helicopter at official firing tests center at Cazaux. So far, gun and air-to-air missile have begun their tests with firing of more than 1800 bullets and three MISTRAL slugs associated with numerous target lockings during combat scenarii.
