The new generation blades such as Blue Edge™ has brought new problematic in the load computation field due to the evolution of the general shape presenting a forward and backward sweep. It is no more possible to speak of straight blades and the used models have to be evaluated for this new purpose. The objective of this study is to determine what has to be modified and improve in the current load computation methodology in order to reach an acceptable predictive level. This work considers both aerodynamics and dynamics models implemented in HOST multibody computer code. A care is also given to the hub models which have an impact on the rotor loads. This paper presents the different models available and gives orientations about the proper load computation methodology. Results are validated using flight test measurements.
