Authors Abstract
Content
As the demand for TPO in the Exterior Automotive industry grows so does the need for a robust coating system. It has been determined that without the use of conventional pretreatment systems, paint performance on TPO can vary significantly. Much of this variance can be overcome by utilizing the proper paint process parameters. These include: washing, adhesion promoter, topcoat, film build, and cure schedule. This paper will discuss optimization of these various paint process parameters for maximum performance of a 2K polyurethane coating system on TPO.
