Abstract

Content: Aircraft nacelles were originally fabricated completely out of sheet metal. Advances at Rohr have enabled the implementation of new materials in an overall effort to reduce weight and improve aircraft performance. This paper deals with new metals and their fabrication techniques as well as Polymer Matrix Composites (PMC's) and their processing techniques.
