ADS-89-SP: A Standard Practice for U.S. Army Rotorcraft Structural Integrity Program

One of the key elements of a rotorcraft developmental program is to ensure Structural Integrity requirements are met for not only initial production, but for the entire life cycle of the aircraft. In a climate of continued budget constraints it is crucial that these requirements are met by an affordable and efficient approach. This paper highlights how a U.S. Army Standard Practice for Rotorcraft Structural Integrity Program (RSIP) can meet these demands by laying out interrelated functional tasks in a concise manner to allow for decision makers to make sound choices with regards to achieving and maintaining of structural integrity for new developmental rotorcraft.
