- The paper reviews the current technologies employed to assist a person with a disability to drive a car and meet the legislative requirements to be able to do so. The paper examines how these assistive technologies are used in three specific areas:
- Access systems
- Primary controls
- Secondary controls
The paper also reviews safety implications involved with adaptations and also where there may be conflicts between systems fitted as standard to the car and the adaptations.
