When the exhaust gas turbine diesel engine step in the working range of low speed revolution, the air flow capacity of compressor rapidly reduces, and it become almost unworkable state compared with the ideal super charging condition.
It is considered that the effect of gas turbine output power appears sensitively unsuitable condition with the full of gas temperature, pressure, flow volume produced in actual operating gas turbine. In order to correct the effective state produced in lower speed range, the development of movable turbine nozzle vanes equipped with in turbine scroll are being watched with many interests by the reason of requirement.
This report mainly concerns itself with authors intend to develop the movable gas turbine nozzle vane and to state the property and actual merit in detail.
The outline will be described below: several movable turbine nozzle vane are made up each double slide vane type and are possible to mutually remove by the control rod from the scroll outside along the direction of turbine center axis.
With these points as above background, the movable turbine nozzle vane have an important effect upon the performance of air compressor and diesel engine.
The selectivity of turbine nozzle area becomes a most serious problem.
Both the larger area and smaller area think not fit for the low speed range of the whole air compressor - diesel engine - gas turbine system.
However, it is evident that for a given output of supercharged diesel engine, the most suitable turbine nozzle vane area can not decide by the theoretical method.
From the above mentioned point of view, the function of movable double slide nozzle vane is proved the best working state of exhaust gas turbocharging method.
The point which the author especially emphasize is about 5-7 % output up of exhaust gas turbo-charged diesel engine in a low speed range as compare movable nozzle vane type with fixed normal nozzle type.
This working action of super charging method appears clearly and effective trend.
