A Treatise on the Development of a Proving Ground Corrosion Test

General Motors has developed an on-the-road Accelerated Corrosion Test procedure over the past several years. This paper describes the chronological events and actions which resulted in this Accelerated Corrosion Test as it is today. This test and its derivatives have been used in the development of General Motors products for the past several years.
