A Rolling Process Applied on the Manufacturing of Precision Cold Formed Metal Motor Housings

The paper discusses the results obtained by the application of the rolling technology to the production of metal motor housings.

In particular a process that allows the production of the motor housing by rolling of a sheet metal strip is described.

Experimental results comparing the innovative rolling process with the traditional stamping process are provided in order to demonstrate the advantages of this technologies when applied to the processing of high thickness metal strips.

Finally, the paper shows the possibility to obtain a waterproof motor housing.
