- A user friendly Windows™ based software package is developed for analysis and design of single lap and double lap bolted joints. The bolted joint design software is based on the computer codes developed by the Northrop Corporation under a contract from the Wright Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH. Due to the low analysis time requirements, the software package is an efficient tool for use in design and optimization cycle of bolted joints involving composite materials. This work is conducted as part of a larger effort currently underway at the AdTech Systems Research, Inc. to establish a baseline to extend the joint design methodology for generalized composite systems including life prediction, thermal effects and dissimilar materials.
