Modern electronic diesel engine governor programs contain a considerable number of parameters and control characteristics describing the engine behaviour under all operating conditions. Alterations of these parameters allow the adaptation of the engine properties.
A portable programming computer was developed which gives the motor engineer a handy tool to change these parameters even white the engine is running and without the help of the governor's manufacturer. Additionally the programming computer provides functions for display of real-time data such as engine speed, accelerator pedal position, control rack position etc.
