Abstract
Content
This paper outlines a new chemical double-dip method for blue tinting anodized aluminum to obtain a “chrome-like” look. The excellent results of laboratory prepared samples on resistance of weathering and ultra-violet radiation are presented.
Estimated operating costs are given and the practicality of retrofitting this process into existing automotive bright anodizing facilities is considered. Commercial scale trial is recommended based on subsequently successful plant test.
